What Is the HERO Program?
This is an energy-efficient financing program in the U.S. It stands for Home Energy Renovation Opportunity, and is a part of the PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) Program, which offers financing for energy-efficient, water-efficient, and renewable energy products to home and business owners in approved communities throughout the state of California. This financing is repaid through annual property tax payments, collected by the county and in some cases passed on to new property owners if that property is sold.
How Can I Qualify?
There is a minimum criteria homeowners must meet to be eligible for financing through the HERO Program. Once the property owner is found eligible, HERO finances 100% of the cost to purchase and install eligible energy-saving products. These products include, but are not limited to:
- Solar Panels
- Artificial Turf
- Central Air Conditioning
- Energy Efficient Doors and Windows
- Drought Tolerant Landscaping

There are numerous benefits to taking advantage of the PACE and HERO programs.
